Durst Pump Drive Troubleshooting and Maintenance Tips | Forum

Hey everyone,

I’m currently troubleshooting a multi-pump setup running on a Durst pump drive, and I wanted to see if anyone has experience with these units. We're noticing a drop in hydraulic performance on one specific circuit.

Since these modular gearboxes split a single power source across multiple pump pads, it's tricky to determine if the issue is a failing hydraulic pump or internal wear within the drive itself.

We already checked the fluid and found some unusual debris. Are there any common failure points on these units we should look out for during a teardown?

To determine whether the performance drop stems from the hydraulic pump or the Durst pump drive itself, start by examining the source of the debris. Because these modular gearboxes maintain an isolated oil supply separate from the hydraulic fluid loop, any metal shavings found in the gearbox oil indicate internal mechanical wear such as gear pitting or bearing failure.
