ZHANGLIN June 2

The iconic 1991 Mazda #55 Mazda 787B has officially made its way into Forza Horizon 6, and it is easily one of the most coveted machines in the entire game. With its legendary quad-rotor scream and historic Le Mans pedigree, every player wants it in their garage. However, if you are looking to track down this absolute monster right out of the gate, you will need to hold your horses. The Mazda 787B is an endgame Barn Find hidden deep within the Takashiro region, and it is strictly locked behind the game's campaign progression system. You cannot simply drive out to the woods and stumble upon it at the start of your journey.

How to Unlock the Barn Location

To make the Mazda 787B barn rumor actually trigger and appear on your map, you have to actively work your way through the "Discover Japan" journal progression system. It requires a bit of grinding, but the reward is entirely worth it.

  • Required Level: You must push your progression all the way to Level 7, which represents the final Master Explorer tier of the journal.

  • Required Stamp: Hitting this final milestone awards you the prestigious Golden Stamp. The moment you secure this stamp, the official Barn Find rumor activates, placing the search zone on your map.

  • How to Level Up Quickly: To stack up points for your journal, focus on clearing story missions (marked by yellow map icons), competing heavily in touge and road races, smashing the regional mascots scattered around the map, boosting your food delivery rank, and investing your credits into buying player houses.

The Exact Barn Location

Once you have that Golden Stamp safely under your belt and the rumor is active, it is time to head out to the Takashiro region for some off-road hunting. Here is exactly where you need to look:

  • Region: Takashiro

  • Specific Spot: Make your way to the absolute north-eastern corner of the Takashiro area map.

  • Navigation Directions: Zoom in on your map and look for a wide, highly stylized, U-shaped curvy road sitting right up against a dense forest line. Drive your car up to the top-right section of this U-bend toward the northeast. Keep your eyes peeled for a small, completely unmapped dirt path cutting straight off the tarmac and heading directly into the trees. Follow this hidden trail into the woods, and it will lead you straight to the forgotten barn.

Restoration and Auction House Restrictions

When you finally pop open the barn doors, do not expect a pristine race car. The Mazda 787B shows extensive cosmetic and mechanical damage from an old transport accident that happened years ago. It will be towed back to your garage immediately for a full restoration.

If you are swimming in credits, you can pay a hefty premium to fix it instantly. Otherwise, you can just go run a handful of races while your mechanics work in the background, and it will eventually unlock for free once the restoration timer hits zero.

Keep in mind that Playground Games changed the rules for this installment: Forza Horizon 6 completely restricts players from listing or buying unlocked Barn Finds on the Auction House. If you want this quad-rotor legend, you have to earn it yourself through the campaign.
