Generally speaking, taller athletes
reach their peak performance earlier and start to decline in performance later
than shorter athletes. Usain Bolt, for example, ran the majority of his fastest
100m sprint races earlier than 26 years of age. He is 6′5 which makes him an
outlier amongst sprinters, as most sprinters are around 6 feet tall. Most
sprinters hit their prime when they're in their late 20s, and sometimes early
30s. Usain Bolt is an outlier, as he hit his prime in his early-mid 20s. This
is expected since he's significantly taller than most sprinters. Su on the
other hand is a very average size and build for a sprinter, o it's not so
supprising that he ran a pb at the age of 31.
